Plastic CNC Machining FAQs

What plastics can you CNC machine?

We machine a wide range of engineering plastics, including POM (Delrin), PEEK, nylon, PTFE, ABS, polycarbonate, acrylic, PEI, PVC, and HDPE. We can help select a suitable material based on strength, temperature, chemical resistance, and application requirements.

Typical tolerances are ±0.05 mm, while tighter tolerances may be possible for critical features. The achievable tolerance depends on the plastic grade, part geometry, wall thickness, and moisture or temperature sensitivity.

Yes. We support one-off prototypes, engineering samples, and low-volume production. CNC machining is suitable for producing functional plastic parts without the cost and lead time of injection molding tooling.

Yes. We machine acrylic and polycarbonate parts such as covers, windows, light guides, and manifolds. Polishing can be applied when improved clarity is required.

We use suitable cutting parameters, sharp tools, controlled clamping, and staged machining to reduce heat buildup and internal stress. For dimensionally sensitive parts, additional finishing passes or stress-relieved material may be recommended.

Yes. Material certificates, dimensional inspection reports, and first article inspection documents are available when required. Please specify your documentation requirements when requesting a quote.

Yes. Available secondary operations include drilling, tapping, threaded insert installation, polishing, deburring, engraving, and part marking. The available options depend on the selected plastic and part design.

Please provide a 3D CAD file, a 2D drawing where available, the required plastic material, quantity, tolerances, surface finish, and any inspection requirements. STEP, STP, IGES, X_T, DWG, DXF, and PDF files are accepted.
